Case Study: Branding & Design for a Black Hair Care Brand Targeted at Gen Z.

Challenge:
A new black hair care brand aimed at Gen Z needed to create a bold, modern identity that resonated with young, trend-conscious consumers. The challenge was to stand out in a saturated market by capturing the vibrant, diverse spirit of Gen Z while addressing the specific needs of Black hair.

Approach:
We developed a brand identity that was energetic, inclusive, and unapologetically authentic. The logo was designed with bold, geometric shapes and vibrant colors, reflecting the dynamic nature of Gen Z culture. The packaging was sleek and modern, featuring bright, contrasting colors and playful typography to catch the eye on social media and retail shelves. We incorporated elements of Afrofuturism in the design, blending cultural heritage with a forward-thinking approach. The brand messaging focused on self-expression, empowerment, and celebrating natural hair textures. Social media played a key role, with content that featured user-generated content, tutorials, and collaborations with young influencers who embodied the brand’s values.
